Kali Malone

An extension of her participation in Holy See Pavilion: The Ear is the Eye of the Soul, Kali Malone comes to Chiesa di Santa Maria di Nazareth for a special evening of organ music on Friday, October 9.

Commissioned by José Tolentino de Mendonça, Prefect of the Dicastery for Culture and Education of the Holy See, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Ben Vickers, and with artistic direction by Soundwalk Collective, the exhibition The Ear Is the Eye of the Soul is inspired by the life and legacy of Saint Hildegard of Bingen. On view through November, the show takes the form of a sonic prayer and invites visitors to engage in the contemplative act of listening through works by twenty-four internationally renowned artists.

As part of a rare free appearance by the lauded composer and performer, Malone will perform live her commissioned composition from the exhibition, as well as other works for the occasion.

This performance is presented as part of the Holy See Pavilion, in collaboration with Monteverde Productions.

Doors at 7:30pm. Seating is first-come, first-served. Show begins promptly at 8pm. No late entry.
